When we work closely with people who are healing, processing trauma, or moving through periods of instability, we often lend more of ourselves to that work than we realize. Our nervous system may help provide steadiness when another person’s nervous system is dysregulated. Our digestive and immune systems can also become involved in how we process, filter, and respond to what we encounter in another.
There are many ways we can resource ourselves, including energy hygiene, grounding, powering up, clearing, boundaries, and working with Helping Spirits. These practices are important, but they still often rely on our own internal systems and resources. Over time, those resources can become tired or depleted.
In this experiential class, I will teach a different way of working: how to create spiritual nervous, immune, and digestive systems that exist separately from the physical body.
Rather than continually asking your own body and energetic systems to carry the load, we will create spiritual systems that can support you in your work with others. These systems are designed to be self-maintaining and resourced through relationships with the elements and Helping Spirits, rather than drawing continually from your own reserves.
We will work with our Helping Spirits to create three primary spiritual systems and learn how to establish them so they are independently resourced and require minimal effort to maintain. We’ll also explore what becomes possible when these systems are engaged in supporting others, allowing your own systems to carry less while offering more support to clients, friends, or loved ones whose systems may be overwhelmed or destabilized.
This class may be especially supportive for healers, therapists, mental health professionals, bodyworkers, spiritual practitioners, and others whose work regularly brings them into close relationship with people experiencing trauma, healing, or significant life transitions. It may also be supportive for highly sensitive people who find themselves regularly holding, processing, or helping to stabilize what others are experiencing, whether with clients, friends, partners, or family.
There will be time during class for multiple comfort breaks to allow time for movement, integration, nourishment, and use of the restroom. You are welcome to nourish yourself with food or drink anytime during class.
Prerequisites: This class is intended for those with experience engaging with energy and Spirit. The material will be taught experientially through journeying, so it is recommended that participants have prior journeying experience and a relationship with at least one personal Helping Spirit.
If you communicate with your Helping Spirits through a different method, or would simply prefer to explore this practice one-on-one, it can also be taught in a two-hour Mentorship Session. Just indicate “Spiritual Systems” as what you’d like to work on when completing your intake form.
